May 13th, 2026: Atmospheric Gradients & The Auth Gateway

Today, the aesthetic of CommitT took a quantum leap forward. We moved away from the “Flatness” of standard mobile UI and embraced a more “Atmospheric” design language.

The Auth Gateway

I spent the morning hardening the Authentication flow. For many apps, the login screen is an afterthought; for CommitT, it is the “Gateway” to a secure vault. I implemented programmatic atmospheric gradients in the background—subtle, shifting pulses of deep Obsidian and muted Saffron. I also tokenized the input fields and selection components, ensuring that the first moment a user interacts with the app, they feel the weight of the design system.

Hardening the Hubs

The transformation continued across the Presets Hub and the Email Setup screen. I purged the remaining hardcoded Tailwind grays and replaced them with our design system tokens. The “Presets Hub” now feels like a high-density control panel, with every commitment template rendered with precision borders and consistent typography.

Selection Sovereignty

I also tokenized the selection components—the radio buttons, toggles, and sliders. By mapping these to our primary Saffron and surfaceLight tokens, I’ve ensured that the “Act of Choice” in the app feels tactile and definitive.

Technical Summary

  • Visual Language: Implemented programmatic atmospheric gradients for the authentication and onboarding flows.
  • System Hardening: Fully tokenized the Email Setup screen, Presets Hub, and Notifications center.
  • Component Depth: Refined selection components with brand-consistent Saffron accents and tactile elevation.
