Revamping the Calendar Experience Today’s work centered on significantly improving the scheduling interface, moving from local state to a robust global store, and refining the drag-and-drop interactions.

🏗️ Calendar State & Interaction Overhaul

Global State Management

Refactor: Migrated calendar event state from local useState in verify.tsx to a new global store using Zustand.
  • Store Actions: Implemented actions for adding, updating, and selecting events.
  • Debugging: Added a custom logger middleware to track state changes effectively.

Robust Drag Handling

Fix: Resolved a critical bug where events would disappear or throw invalid date warnings after dragging.
  • Logic Update: Added robust parsing to correctly extract start/end times from various return formats (ISO strings, Date objects).
  • Data Integrity: Ensured exclusive handling of dateTime (timed events) vs date (all-day events) to maintain valid event structures.

📅 UI/UX Enhancements

Custom Date Picker & Header

  • New Component: Added DatePickerModal matching the system UI style.
  • Navigation: Integrated the date picker and a “Today” quick-nav button directly into the Schedules header.

Full Event Interactivity

  • Drag-to-Move: Enabled seamless moving of events.
  • Drag-to-Create: allowed creating new events by dragging on empty slots.
  • Resize: Implemented intuitive event resizing.
  • Responsiveness: Improved drag gestures with instant-press recognition.

Visual Polish

  • Selection: Implemented tap-to-select and background tap-to-deselect.
  • Theme: Updated calendar styles with minimalist time labels, custom font sizes, and optimized dark mode colors.
  • Cleanup: Removed redundant schedule.tsx and verify.tsx screens.

📱 Layout Architecture

Switch to Tabs Layout

Refactor: Replaced Stack navigation with Tabs in _layout.tsx to improve state persistence.
  • Persistence: This prevents pages from unmounting and losing state when navigating between tabs.
  • Bottom Bar: Updated BottomTabBar to implement standard BottomTabBarProps, using state.routes and descriptors for correct tab handling.
  • Fixes: Resolved white background artifacts on the schedules screen by wrapping content in a View container.
  • Styling: Removed the default top border from the tab bar for a cleaner dark theme look.
